Laura Askey
Camp Director
Hi everyone! My name is Laura and I am a Head Coach at Hellcats Cheerleaders - I've been involved in cheerleading for over 17 years! While I live and breathe cheer, my other passion is summer camp and I have spent 8 years working at a Summer Camp in the USA! I am so excited to be the Camp Director at CheerCamps this summer and finally merge my two favourite things together! I firmly believe everyone should get to experience the magic of Summer Camp and I cannot wait to meet you all and share a fun-filled weekend of cheerleading, team-building and making new friendships.
Jo Burrows
Assistant Camp Director
Hi guys! I am the Director and Head Coach at Tyneside Ignite Cheerleading, and a secondary school PE and Maths teacher. I’ve been involved in gymnastics/cheerleading for most of my life. I also have experience of working at a residential camp in America as a gymnastics coach and camp counsellor. I will be working at CHEERCAMPS as the Assistant Camp Director this summer, and I cannot wait for you all to join us for a weekend of fun, cheerleading and adventure! CHEERCAMPS is everything I wish existed when I was younger, it combines two of the things I love most - cheerleading and the outdoors! I can’t wait to experience it with you all.
Charlotte Frazer
Specialist Camp Coach
We're excited to announce the talented Charlotte Frazer as our specialised camp coach! Charlotte is a World Champion and recently coached Unity Allstars Royal to their Gold medal placing at Worlds 2024!
Charlotte will be leading a 4-hour session at CHEERCAMPS. This session is open to athletes of all abilities, with additional coaching staff supporting athletes with drills and skills throughout. With a mix of stunts, tumbling and fun choreography, we're sure every athlete will get something out of the session.
Maisie Rose
Camp Staff
Hi, I’m Maisie! I’ve been in cheer for 6 years, competing up to level 5 and being part of the Leeds University team and coaching a very successful season!
I’ve also been a young leader and part of girl guiding since a young age, giving me a lot of experience with camps. I’m super excited to be a part of bringing the two together and creating opportunities for cheerleaders to have so much fun and do the sport they love at the same time! I can’t wait to meet you all!
Maddie Jamieson
Camp Staff
Hi, it’s Maddie! I've been involved in cheer and dance for 15 years, first as an athlete and then as a coach, choreographer, and judge. I’ve competed and coached at ICU and IASF Worlds, and I’ve judged across 10+ countries too! Nothing beats being in the cheer bubble for a weekend, and that’s why I’m so excited to spent time with you this summer! I’ve previously worked at a residential summer camp in the USA as a gymnastics instructor, and I know the CheerCamps team are going to go all out to make the 2024 camp unmissable. See you soon!
CHEERCAMPS STAFF ROLES
1 x Camp Director: Oversees camp planning and operations, ensuring a positive and safe environment for campers and staff. Manages overall administration and program implementation.
3 x Camp Staff: Integral team members responsible for day-to-day camp operations, supporting activities, and fostering a positive atmosphere under the guidance of the Camp Director.
2 x Junior Counsellors (JC): JC's assist in camp activities, serving as role models for campers, and gaining valuable leadership experience under supervision.
1 x Specialist Camp Coach: Specialised staff instructing cheerleading techniques, routines, and drills. Plays a key role in skill development and collaborates with the Camp Director on training program design.
